| From small-town Ontario beginnings in 1985, Elmira Poultry has grown to become a nationally recognized poultry processor specializing in value-added
poultry products. Elmira Poultry was founded in Elmira, Ontario by Monty Ward, who saw an unfulfilled demand for value-added, further processed poultry products. With
a staff of six and a humble operation in a rented facility, Monty Ward’s
vision took shape and Elmira Poultry’s spirit of innovation was born.
Our first product mix included premium boneless chicken breasts in five
different portion sizes, two varieties of cooked, diced chicken, and two styles of
chicken wings – Roadhouse and Roasters.
Next, we introduced our breaded products – fillets, nuggets, burgers,
schnitzel, and lightly dusted wings.
And today, our fully cooked line includes flavoured wings, Quick Strips
(light or dark), boneless breast, turkey sausage, and a variety of breaded products
including stuffed chicken breasts.
Over the years, our recipe for success proved to be just right. In 1990,
to meet consumer demand for our growing product line, Elmira Poultry
moved to its current location in Waterloo. At our new high-tech
40,000 sq. ft. facility, our family of over 160 Elmira Poultry employees
continues to satisfy the needs of consumers throughout North America
every day.
In 2000, Elmira Poultry celebrated 15 years in business and Monty
Ward sold his company to the current ownership group. Still privately held, Elmira Poultry is committed to maintaining
our long-standing commitment to product
innovation with a growing selection of
products that satisfy diverse consumer tastes. |
